SUP STOCKIES.....
How are you? Feeling good? That wart stop calling you names?
Well we're feeling great! But we do need some help. Anyone out there give us some help? You will???!!! Awww, you're so sweet.
So before we give you your task, we have a question for you.... Do you like Shakepeare? Love Shakespeare? Hate Shakespeare(philistine)?
Well, if you anwered yes to any of the above, have we got a mission for you! We are in the midst of a monumental undertaking and we need help! We need butts in seats and community spirit!
This weekend, there's a storm a brewin... a Tempest, if you will.... or what you will.....
By extreme coincidence, three theatres this weekend will be giving you, the public, ample chance to soak up the words of one of the greatest playwrights in history... no, David Hasselhoff did not add to his vast array of talents(crossing fingers though) but starting Wed, August 2nd and ending Sunday August 5th, three theatre companies will be offering their own unique takes on that master of mirth and merriment, William Burroughs Shakespeare(middle name might be wrong)!!
Wed-Sat come see Twelfth Night by The Distracted Globe, and within that same time frame, The Upstate Shakespeare festival is offering Henry V, ending Sunday. And what else you ask? The Greenville Little Theatre is offering short, comedic takes on Shakespeare Friday and Saturday!!
What does this have to do with Stock you ask(or maybe didn't, but we're asking for you)
Well, one of our entrepid group is in Twelfth Night, a few of our entrepid members either wrote or will read short scripted plays read before Twelfth Night, most of our entrepid members will be performing improv after the Little Theatre short plays and well, we really don't have a connection to Henry V other than we love them and want people to see them!
So, go see Twelfth Night, Henry V and then you'll get most of the Shakespeare in jokes when you go see The Little Theatre Not So Shakespeare shows! Sympatico! Oh, and if you're worried about your purse(everybody called it a purse in Shakespeares day, chill) Twelfth Night is only 10 dollars, Not So Shakepeare is only 8 and Henry V is free(donations accepted, of course)!
How can you say no? Well, you can say Nay, Nein, Nuh-uh... but we don't think you will!
So come on out, laugh, cry, laugh-cry and show people the Upstate still allows ole Bill to thrive!!!
And until next time....
KEEP STOCK ALIVE!!!!!!
